As Good As I Get

In The Hall Of The Gods 22"x30" watercolour $5000

The subtle colours and the drama in the sky are not fully apparent in this photo.

Everything worked in this painting. It is my masterpiece in watercolours.

The Hall of the Gods is located at the far end of Maligne Lake.

It is a magical place.

About Me

Ray Syrja: Jasper, Alberta, Canada; Visual Artist and Instructor. My artwork is a celebration of nature, of life itself. I am an artist; a painter. I work in watercolours, acrylics, sculpture and computers. I have experimented in fine art and graphic art over the past 30 years. I worked as a full time artist and art instructor for an eight-year period. As a Workshop Instructor, I have taught with the Jasper Further Education Council, Silvertip Art, JPL Elderhostel Program, A Brush With Watercolour, Jasper Artists Guild and Artra in Edmonton. Courses taught include watercolour landscape, birds & animals, figure drawing, heritage buildings and portraits. I am co-author of two watercolour instructional books. My projects have ranged from fine art shows to billboards; museum displays to restaurant menus; travelling displays to chalk boards. I have participated in many single artist and group art shows; my work has found its way around the world.
